The National Framers Council develops and implements
best practices to help ensure framers leave the jobsite
each day in the same health as they arrived.

Since FrameSAFE first rolled out in March of this year, 23 NFC Professional Framer members and 12 Skilled Subcontractors have subscribed to the program. As this bilingual, OSHA-compliant safety program is being implemented across the country, the feedback has been very positive.

Atlas Engineered Products Ltd (CVE:AEP), the engineered wood products group, revealed it had doubled capacity at its Satellite building components plant in Merrickville, Ontario, to keep up with demand.

Construction work, with all of its reaching and lifting, can take a toll on the body, and some in the industry are looking to exoskeletons to relieve some of that burden on workers.

“The safety huddles happen on every jobsite every morning before the start of the day,” says NFC member Pedro Loureiro, president of Nomad Framing in Monroe Township, New Jersey.

One exciting aspect of the nation’s housing affordability crisis is the rising popularity of prefabricated homes in states that are prone to severe weather events (e.g., Florida) because of advances in construction that improve storm-resiliency.
