Steering Committee

“Work safely. Go home safely.” The National Framers Council develops and implements best practices to help ensure framers leave the jobsite each day in the same health as they arrived.

Best Practices Committee

The National Framers Council Best Practices Committee is formed to find, formulate and replicate non-client facing procedures that are accepted or prescribed as being correct and most effective across the entire framing industry. Our goal is to provide the framing community with guidelines to be used during the various phases of building projects throughout the United States.

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee will promote the benefits of membership in the National Framers Council (NFC) using the motto “for framers, by framers.” This effort will aid in recruiting new NFC members as well as maintain and actively engage current membership. The Committee will work with sponsor members to educate framers about their products and services and will develop contests and promote events (NFC and other) to emphasize the concept “Work safely. Go home safely.”

Product Performance Committee

The Product Performance Committee will take an industry leadership role through education, advocacy and outreach to product specifiers, manufacturers, resellers, purchasers and users to identify accurate product information and recommended guidelines and industry best practices for framers to better understand product performance and manage product use.  This includes, but is not limited to, environmental issues such as surface mold, weather exposure, moisture management and workmanship in addition to long term product performance.  The Committee will further take an industry leadership role on educating product installers on proper installation and use of products in accordance with manufacturer’s requirements and other industry participants that ultimately results in better building performance.

Safety Committee

The National Framers Council Safety Committee will take an industry leadership role on educating framers on standardized safety practices, procedures and guidelines that are accepted as being the most effective across the entire framing industry. Through its ongoing development of the FrameSAFE program, as well as involvement in a variety of safety initiatives with OSHA and other organizations, the Safety Committee’s goal is for all framers to “Work safely. Go home safely.”

Standards Committee

The purpose of the National Framers Council Standards Committee is to (1) define the typical duties and responsibilities of the Building Designer, Contractor and framing installation subcontractor to the Contractor (“Framing Trade Contractor”) so that all parties understand the division of responsibilities with respect to wood framing of multi-unit Building projects (“Commercial Wood Framing”).  This will result in future safer construction, more effective and efficient use of resources and more economical Commercial Wood Framing projects overall and (2) provide requirements to the Building Designer and Contractor on matters relating to the commercial wood framing process. (Revised 1/20)

Technology Committee

“Technology FOR FRAMERS, BY FRAMERS” - The Technology Committee will serve the NFC and its members. The purpose of this committee is to research and/or develop technologies applicable to the framing industry. The committee will collaborate with NFC sponsor members to determine the best, innovative software and product technology as it relates to the framing industry.  The work of this committee will be delivered to all members with the intention to improve productivity, safety, quality and profits.
