FastenMaster Introduces Non-Load Bearing Wall Connector for Roof Truss Connections

FastenMaster, a leading manufacturer of innovative fastening solutions for commercial and residential wood-to-wood construction applications, has developed an innovative fastener that allows framers to make a code-approved, flexible connection between non-load bearing walls and partitions and the roof trusses above.

The Non-Load Bearing Connector (NLB) is an easy-to-install fastener designed to maintain the critical gap between the wall plate and the framing above. The fastener is designed to flex with typical truss movements while maintaining the horizontal integrity of the wall panels. The new fastener prevents serious problems encountered by designers and builders including drywall cracking, sagging/uneven floors, sagging headers, squeaking and more. NLB provides superior value to framers by reducing installation time and increasing worker safety by allowing installers to make the connection while standing on the ground. The NLB fastener is code compliant by meeting the ICC-ES AC13 requirement.

The NLB product offering comes in a 50-pack box, which includes a setting tool, and a 5/16” magnetic bit. Each fastener features a friction reducing sleeve, and wings which enables the fastener to be installed without predrilling.

Established in 1981, FastenMaster® is a brand of fastening solutions for professional contractors. Its products are engineered for structural, decking and trim applications in residential construction, and its product lines include the LOK Line, PAMFast, and Cortex Hidden Fastening systems.
