Safety Committee
Purpose Statement
The National Framers Council Safety Committee will take an industry leadership role on educating framers on standardized safety practices, procedures and guidelines that are accepted as being the most effective across the entire framing industry. Through its ongoing development of the FrameSAFE program, as well as involvement in a variety of safety initiatives with OSHA and other organizations, the Safety Committee’s goal is for all framers to “Work safely” and “Go home safely.”
2020 Committee Priorities
- Create module for FrameSAFE about Craning/Rigging and develop TBTs from there.
- Explore ongoing implementation needs of subscribers: What’s working? What’s not? What additional resources would be helpful?
- Review Site Specific Template to provide more clarity to options and better equip users to interface with OSHA regarding issues of greater harm and feasibility.
- Provide guidance on how the legalization of marijuana should effect drug use policy and drug screening protocol.
- Develop a regular email communication vehicle to FrameSAFE subscribers that communicates hot OSHA topics, TBT reminders, events and activities, and committee updates, and provides a place to do subscriber polls and get feedback.
- Perform a general review of the current program to incorporate information from Toolbox Talks and other resources that have been created since V4 came out, with the goal of providing FrameSAFE V5 in late 2020.
